Apopka's Planning Commission is set to consider granting a special exception for a mosque to be built in downtown Apopka.

The Islamic Center of Apopka has proposed the construction of a 10,000 square foot building on a 1.5-acre lot.

The building would include a worship area, classrooms, offices, and a kitchen.

The Planning Commission will review the proposal and make a recommendation to the City Council, who will ultimately decide whether to approve the special exception for the mosque.
